Mohamed Salah Offers Statement to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones

Jones has disclosed that Salah apologised to the team after the fallout from his televised remarks.

What Happened

The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match subsequent to voicing frustrations and suggesting his relationship with manager had broken down.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”

The head coach has refused to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.

Looking Ahead

Jones insisted that the team's response was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.

The midfielder also implied that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “It's clear there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

On-Field Response

Their results have been impressive in the matches since the situation. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not designed to destabilise the squad.

“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, playing well and starting to win games.”
