NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features text commentary for Sunday's games on various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard through designated networks covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week of the football calendar , following recent discussion regarding two top teams as possible championship contenders, each lost their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games were the amount of penalties both conceded. Philadelphia committed them in key moments meaning they kind of defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

However it was good to see that Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have that deficit and then lead three successful possessions on three possessions during the final period, to win the victory 21-17.

Denver boast the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, while the Eagles are number one in scoring near the end zone, and Denver won that contest.

They had effective strategies in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily rushing extra pass rushers instead they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, we said during a show how Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They ended last season well and excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's dark horses?

New TE Evan Engram has excelled significantly while recent running back their rusher is a player they believe in. He's currently fifth league-wide for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive how the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

That shows that Denver are a team that wants to run first, because you can do a lot off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while maintains in favourable down and distances.

It's also benefited quarterback the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they don't move the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, which is different, and he's highly agile.

His strengths are his movement, the capacity to throw while moving, as well as using varied release points to make the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got great poise in the pocket and is not bothered by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you constantly rush it consumes time and makes the defence to stay in play extended periods, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the area vertically side to side. This proves exhausting.

The quarterback has pushed back with the coach during games sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB who's similar to moldable clay. The coach can really develop him how he wants to shape him. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

Payton owns a championship and now passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. I think the success the Broncos are having on offence is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB helps make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they strong enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that was not championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to be in the AFC West. The key is is maintain this path.

They excel at embracing their strength, that is the ground game, and that's exactly what they must do versus the Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they are the only team without a win any game.

Since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, this team are also the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

After this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.

This hinges upon which form of the Chiefs they meet because Denver {beat|def
