The English centre-back has continued to impress for Crystal Palace this season a summer move to Anfield falling through. With his deal due to expire in the close season, January is the club's last opportunity to secure a transfer fee for their captain. A host of elite sides, including City and several continental powerhouses including Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, are believed to hold an interest. However, a January exit is considered unlikely, particularly given the coach's dependence on the player.

The Wales forward has found starting opportunities limited at Spurs this campaign. Despite being the club's top scorer the previous campaign, he has started just a handful of league matches.
